TC “Living Books in Schools” brought together a group of teachers, educators and volunteers from Serbia, Romania, Slovenia and Poland for a 5 days interactive training course that explored the challenges of a meaningful intercultural dialogue and developed competences on preparing, implementing and evaluation Living Library methodology in schools thus promoting intercultural citizenship education. The main goal of the training course was to understand and implement all steps of organizing non formal method Living Library in schools.
Participants acquired and improved the competencies for implementing the Living Library method, as well as the competences to initiate and manage future projects aimed at introducing new educational methods.
They also learned and understand the different educational systems of the partner countries and improved language and ICT skills as well as the skills of working with sensitive groups. Familiarizing with a large number of staff and teachers from partner organizations, a good basis for cooperation on future projects is created.
All mobility participants held an internal seminar through which other teachers are introduced to the knowledge, skills and experience they acquired during mobility and train them to apply the Living Library method.
Its all about building bridges between formal and non formal education. Teachers and Living library volunteers from Slomo - društvo za trajnostni razvoj, Intercultural school Kosta Trifkovic, Scoala Ion Creanga and Międzynarodowa Szkoła Podstawowa Edukacji Innowacyjnej w Łodzi were breaking stereotypes, learning about human rights and brainstorming on how to organize Living Library in schools.
